a New Spring (lower door slider replacement)

Beitrag von pjstock » 25.05.2026 17:17

good morning from Kanada
where the miserable rainy weather that followed a miserable snowy cold winter finally seems to be receding.
I haven't dared to investigate how the various systems survived the winter.
I had to rush to get her into storage last December and so I have spent 5 nervous months wondering: "did I drain all water systems adequately? did anything freeze and burst?"

so far - fingers crossed, touch wood - I don't see any leaks and all the water systems seem to be working

Last fall having struggled for weeks I also paid a specialist to replace the sliding door sliders.
BUT they could not figure out how to replace the bottom one. they had never seen this style of floor and so didn't know how to access the lower section.

I know I have seen this out here somewhere, but before I start just pulling pieces out, can anyone direct me to instructions for how to access the lower slider?

Now having foolishly opened my mouth, I see a photo in my files showing exactly this procedure.
But I wonder where I got that photo? I would love to read a description of the steps.
anyone?

But I will leave the photo here for other peoples' reference.

Peter
