Water leaking onto dashboard

Greeting from the UK. Sorry for not speaking German.

Does anyone have experience with water leaking into the cab above central dashboard? It seems to happen most when inclined forward slightly. This has been happening for a few months now

Removing sunvisors and looking under head lining, water appears to be running down the chassis from above the windscreen (so it is t the windscreen leaking. Maybe the seal between the chassis and the sleeping pod?

Any help very much welcome. All the electronics for the 3rd party alarm and immobiliser are directly under the leak! They’ve already shorted out once before, and I’m currently in Switzerland so cannot afford for that to happen right now

Thanks, Hugh

Hello,

Welcome to this forum! What a shame that it is leaking onto your dashboard, I'm sorry to understand that. The reason will probably be the seal between the roof and the body. If so the sealing needs to be replaced. Removing the old sealing is a lot of work and while doing so you might want to look for rust and use Sikaflex to fix it again. If you are interested to study the topic, please use the search function and look for the German word "Dachnaht".

When investigating the reason for your water ingress, please also make sure that all your roof windows are in good condition.

Best of luck!
Regards

Wolf

Take a look here in the forum under the keyword ‚Rost am Querbalken‘ or ‚Scheibenrahmen‘.

Feel free to share some photos once you've removed the headliner in the cab!

Hallo Hugh,

Thankyou for the replies.

This only occurs when the van is moving. The issue also first arose after the windshield was replaced, it seemed to be the only variable that changed. Prior to the replacement, we drove home for 3 hours in torrential rain no problems. The seal between the cab and top looks a little worse for wear, so will start with that, and then assess. It has been sat in the rain since getting back to the UK with no leaking present.
